GLOBAL RECOGNITION

HT042 SELECTED BY WHO AMONG 21 FINAL INNOVATIONS FROM 1,175 SUBMISSIONS WORLDWIDE

HT042 has been recognized on the global stage as a traditional Korean medicine-based natural product ingredient with potential in children’s growth science.

A NEW APPROACH TO CHILDREN’S GROWTH

Many children around the world continue to face growth challenges. Nutrition-focused programs have long played an important role, but nutrition alone may not fully address the complexity of children’s growth. Height growth is influenced by more than nutrient intake. Growth plate function can be affected by multiple factors, including stress, chronic inflammation, lack of sleep, and metabolic imbalance. This is why children’s growth requires a broader perspective, one that considers not only nutritional support but also the environment in which the growth plate can function properly. NeuMed studies growth plate function and the growth environment together to develop a more fundamental approach to children’s growth.

WHAT IS WHO H2I?

WHO H2I, Health & Heritage Innovations, is an international WHO program that identifies innovations rooted in traditional knowledge and supported by modern scientific validation. The program is open to researchers and institutions worldwide and covers innovation across the field of traditional medicine. Final innovation cases are selected through multi-stage review based on scientific validity, public health value, and scalability.

WHY HT042 WAS SELECTED

In 2025, WHO H2I received 1,175 research and technology submissions from around the world. HT042 was selected as one of only 21 final innovation cases out of all submissions worldwide. HT042 offers a different approach from conventional nutrition-focused solutions. It is based on a complex natural product design that focuses on growth plate function, a key site where height growth occurs. WHO recognized HT042 as a heritage-based public health innovation that connects the traditional perspective of Korean medicine with modern scientific validation. HT042 is based on a combination of three natural products: Astragalus, Eleuthero, and Phlomis root. Its growth-related effects and safety have been evaluated step by step through 23 SCI-indexed publications and two human studies. This combination of scientific evidence and practical applicability was highly regarded in the WHO review.

THE 2ND WHO GLOBAL SUMMIT ON TRADITIONAL MEDICINE

HT042 was officially introduced at the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, held in New Delhi, India, in December 2025. NeuMed attended the summit by official invitation from WHO and presented HT042’s development background, scientific validation structure, and potential for industrial application to traditional medicine researchers from around the world.
