Founded in 2003 by faculty members of Kyung Hee University College of Korean Medicine, NeuMed validates the knowledge of traditional Korean medicine through modern science and develops it into functional ingredients and natural product-based materials.

Based on pharmacognosy and pharmacology, NeuMed evaluates the efficacy and safety of natural products through cell studies, animal studies, and human studies.

NeuMed also operates the Donguibogam Material Bank with Kyung Hee University College of Korean Medicine, supplying standardized medicinal herbs and extracts with verified origins and component profiles.

NeuMed was the first in Korea to receive MFDS recognition for HT042 as an individually recognized functional ingredient for children’s height growth.

Since then, NeuMed has developed MFDS-recognized functional ingredients for liver health, stomach health, and joint health, building strong capabilities in natural product-based functional ingredient development.

With experience in botanical drug candidates and ongoing validation-based R&D, NeuMed continues to expand its research from health functional foods to broader pharmaceutical and functional material applications.

NeuMed operates iMED, an integrated R&D platform that connects the full process of botanical ingredient development, from raw material cultivation and extraction to standardization, functional validation, human studies, and regulatory strategy.

Through cultivation sites near the Baekdu Mountain region, a partner extraction facility in Anhui Province, the Donguibogam Material Bank, and the NeuQure™ quality system, NeuMed manages botanical raw material variability and supports consistent ingredient quality.

NeuMed’s research achievements, including SCI-indexed publications, patents, MFDS-recognized functional ingredients, U.S. FDA NDI No Objection, and WHO H2I Global Top 21 selection, demonstrate its growing global competitiveness in natural product R&D.
