PROBLEMS IN HEIGHT GROWTH
PROBLEM

What if a child is not growing well, even with sufficient nutrition?

Some children may grow more slowly than their peers even when they receive adequate nutrition.
In such cases, growth may not be explained by nutrition alone.

Height growth is influenced by a complex growth-regulating system involving the brain, liver, and growth plate.
If this system does not respond properly, a child’s growth pace may slow down even when nutritional intake is sufficient.

The growth plate gradually begins to close from early puberty.
Once the growth plate is closed, height growth becomes difficult to change.
This is why children’s growth requires attention not only to nutrition,
but also to the growth environment and growth plate function.

HT042 DEVELOPMENT STORY
STORY

Twenty-six years of growth research began with one question
“Could natural products offer a different approach to supporting children’s growth?”

1999
BEGINNING OF GROWTH RESEARCH

Researchers at Kyung Hee University began studying children’s growth from the perspective of the growth plate. By observing growth plate responses at the microscopic level and reviewing more than 100 natural product candidates, they identified the potential of a combination of Astragalus, Eleuthero, and Phlomis root.

2014
KOREA’S FIRST MFDS RECOGNITION

After two human studies, HT042 became Korea’s first MFDS-recognized functional ingredient for children’s height growth in 2014. This marked an important milestone for a naturally derived ingredient supported by scientific evidence.

2025
HT042 EXPANDS GLOBALLY

As Korea’s No. 1 selling children’s height growth ingredient for 11 consecutive years, HT042 represents a leading case in Korea’s children’s growth functional ingredient market. Through U.S. FDA NDI No Objection and WHO H2I Global Top 21 selection, HT042 has also expanded its recognition beyond Korea as a functional ingredient rooted in traditional knowledge and supported by modern science.

HOW HT042 SUPPORTS GROWTH
HOW IT WORKS

Brain → Liver → Growth Plate
A Growth-Related Signaling Pathway

A child’s height growth is not determined by nutrition alone. Growth hormone signals begin in the pituitary gland, growth-related factors are produced in the liver, and the growth plate must respond properly. HT042 has been studied for its potential to support this growth-related signaling pathway, from the pituitary gland and liver to the growth plate.

STEP. 01

PITUITARY GLAND

Supporting Growth Hormone Signaling

HT042 has been studied in relation to genes involved in growth hormone synthesis and secretion, as well as signals that regulate growth hormone activity.

STEP. 02

LIVER

Supporting IGF-1 and IGFBP-3

Growth hormone signaling is connected to IGF-1 and IGFBP-3, growth-related factors that help transmit signals to the growth plate.

STEP. 03

GROWTH PLATE

Supporting Chondrocyte Activity

At the growth plate, growth-related signals are associated with chondrocyte proliferation and hypertrophy, key processes involved in bone length growth.
